In November Fulford sent two teams of players to Junior Women’s Indoor Nationals in Bristol. Leaving from school on the Friday afternoon, a long coach journey followed and after a late meal at the hotel’s restaurant the players were excited for the tournament the following day. Each of the teams would get to compete against schools and clubs from all across the country.
One team, comprising Y9 girls playing in the U17 division, put in some fantastic performances and after some individual and team heroics finished 5th in the country.
The other team, of Y11s and Y12s, competed in the U20 division. Again there was fine play on show, and the team finished 4th, just shy of a medal position.
Congratulations to our friends at York based club team Northern Lights (featuring Fulford’s Emily Askham) for winning gold in the U20 division!
A huge thanks also go to Dan, Toby and Tom from Y12 for making the trip to help pitchside as coaches.
