In March we attended the final indoor tournament of the season – Under 14 and Under 17 Indoor Nationals.
There were some fantastic matches for the Fulford U17 team, who (as all of them are Y9s and Y10s) were towards the bottom of the age bracket. They fought well, had some close games, and played brilliantly in crucial matches to secure themselves a top 8 finish. A great achievement for a young, hungry team.
The Fulford U14 team went into the tournament in a different situation: they were almost all Y8s and so were at the top end of the age bracket. They had been training hard throughout the year and had been working as a competition squad for the last 5 weeks to get as prepared as they could for the tournament. When they got there on Saturday, their considerable efforts were really clear on the pitch. They fought off all the competition with style throughout the entire weekend, with many fantastic throws, huge grabs, team defence, and even some diving blocks, to earn themselves the gold medal.
The Fulford U14 team are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
