At the end of the half term the hall was rocking with the sound of “Candy Man” and the “Oompa Loompa” song as this year’s school production took to the stage. A collaboration between the Drama and Music department and seeing students from all ages performing, the musical was a colourful, vibrant and enchanting performance, showcasing the talent and creativity of our students.

The cast brought to life Roald Dahl’s beloved characters with energy and charm and had audiences of all ages captivated. Particular praise must go to George Connell (y12) and his fantastic portrayal of Willy Wonka, which was both whimsical and captivating. The set design by our Art Technician Ms Mcewan transported the audience into the magical world of the chocolate factory, while the musical numbers were energetic and engaging.

The band, conducted by Mrs Fletcher and Mr Mellors worked hard with some difficult numbers. Miss Greene supported our soloists, enabling them to perform some real crowd pleasers. Choreography by Miss Fergie was delightful and performed with great enthusiasm. Overall, it was a memorable production, demonstrating both the students’ and the staff’s hard work and dedication.
