Location: Fulford School 
Salary: Grade 5 – based on full-time equivalent of £26,748 – 27,935 p.a.
Actual Annual Salary: £22,735 – £23,744 – term time only
Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week, Term time only working  
Start date: 7th September 2026
 
About the Role
We are seeking a confident, resilient and highly organised individual to take on the role of Removal Room Manager, responsible for the day‑to‑day running of our Stage 4 Removal Room. This is a key pastoral role, ensuring that students who are removed from lessons continue to engage in their learning in a calm, structured and purposeful environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation of the Removal Room, ensuring it runs effectively at all times
  • Supervise students and maintain a silent, focused working environment
  • Ensure students complete work set to an appropriate standard and that suitable work is available
  • Liaise with Heads of Year, pastoral staff, teaching staff and SENDCo to support student outcomes
  • Support behaviour systems, including attending reintegration or exclusion-related meetings where appropriate
  • Manage resources and equipment within the Removal Room
 
About You
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and can manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
  • Is confident, firm and fair, with a consistent approach to behaviour expectations
  • Can work independently and use initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Has good organisational, literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Ideally has experience working with young people or in a school setting
  • Holds (or is willing to work towards) a Level 3 qualification
