Location: Fulford School 
Salary: Grade 5 – based on full-time equivalent of £26,748 – £27,935 p.a.
Actual Annual Salary: £19,970 – £20,875 – term time only – Based on full time
Contract: Permanent contract
Full time positions available: 32.5 hours per week – Term time only – working 39 weeks
Part time positions available: Hours/Days to be discussed at interview. We understand the importance of flexibility and a healthy work life balance. We are more than happy to discuss your preferred days/hours to see if we can accommodate these.

Cover Supervisor – A Stepping Stone into Teaching
Are you considering a career in education? We are particularly interested in candidates available across 5 days per week, but we’re happy to be flexible for the right person.
 
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Is confident and proactive in supporting students’ academic progress and personal development
  • Has a strong presence in the classroom with solid behaviour management skills
  • Brings enthusiasm, positivity, and a collaborative mindset to the team
  • Is committed to helping deliver a high-quality learning environment
 
What you’ll be doing:
  • Supervising whole classes during teacher absences, delivering work set by the regular class teacher
  • Maintaining a focused and supportive atmosphere to help students stay on task
  • Responding to any immediate issues in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Collecting completed assignments and returning materials to the appropriate teacher
  • Assisting as a Teaching Assistant when cover is not needed, supporting students across the curriculum
 
What we’re looking for:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff
  • Experience working with young people is beneficial, though not essential – enthusiasm and commitment go a long way
