Teacher of Inclusive Learning

Location: Fulford School

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Start Date: 1st September 2026

Are you the kind of teacher who believes early intervention genuinely changes lives?
From September 2026, Fulford School is creating an exciting new specialist KS3 teaching role within our highly regarded Learning Support Team. This is a rare opportunity to help design and deliver a bespoke provision for students with cognition and learning needs, giving them the strongest possible start to secondary school.
This role sits at the heart of Fulford’s ambitious, values-driven approach to inclusion.

The Role
You will teach a small, carefully identified KS3 cohort, beginning with a Year 7 class taught through a primary-style model, before also working with a small group of students in Years 8 and 9.

You will:
  • Deliver the majority of the KS3 curriculum in a highly adapted, engaging and responsive way
  • Work with students who are working well below age-related expectations, many with identified SEND
  • Provide stability, continuity and excellence in teaching at a critical transition point
  • Build strong relationships that support confidence, independence and readiness for learning
  • Work closely with subject specialists to enable successful access to mainstream lessons
  • Support students to reintegrate confidently into mainstream classrooms over time

Specialist colleagues will deliver subjects such as PE, the Arts and Design, allowing you to focus on high-quality teaching, curriculum coherence and individual progress.
This is a newly created post, with genuine scope to evolve alongside future cohorts and shape the direction of KS3 inclusion at Fulford.

  • Build positive, consistent relationships with young people

  • Believe that inclusion is about excellence, not compromise

Why Fulford?

  • An experienced, skilled and collaborative Learning Support Team
  • Subject departments committed to inclusive practice
  • A values-led leadership team that prioritises relationships, professional trust and staff wellbeing
