Contract: Full time/Part time – Permanent – 32.5 hours per week, working term time only

Full time positions available: 32.5 hours per week – Term time only – working 39 weeks

Cover Supervisor – A Stepping Stone into Teaching

We are particularly interested in candidates available across 5 days per week, but we’re happy to be flexible for the right person.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is confident and proactive in supporting students’ academic progress and personal development
Has a strong presence in the classroom with solid behaviour management skills
Brings enthusiasm, positivity, and a collaborative mindset to the team
Is committed to helping deliver a high-quality learning environment
What you’ll be doing:
Supervising whole classes during teacher absences, delivering work set by the regular class teacher
Maintaining a focused and supportive atmosphere to help students stay on task
Responding to any immediate issues in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures
Collecting completed assignments and returning materials to the appropriate teacher
Assisting as a Teaching Assistant when cover is not needed, supporting students across the curriculum
What we’re looking for:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff
Experience working with young people is beneficial, though not essential – enthusiasm and commitment go a long way

Yorkshire Learning Trust:
