The Fulford Ultimate Frisbee team have been hard at work this academic year. We sent two teams to the Junior Women’s Indoor National Finals in Bristol in November, finishing a commendable 7th place in the Under 17 division and despite a heroic performance in the final we finished 2nd place in Under 20. The girls were fantastic across what was a long, tiring weekend – most of it spent on a minibus!
In January, we sent 3 teams to the Junior Open Indoor National Finals. It was brilliant to see so many of our players out on the pitches in Coventry, and some fantastic performances. The third team did brilliantly to win the bottom half of the Under 20 division, bringing home the Plate trophy. The second team delivered some fantastic 13-0 thrashings to multiple opponents on their way to 5th place overall. The first team showed their class, cruised to the final where they put on a great show against long-time rivals from Exeter but just fell short, finishing 2nd.
There’s more to come – we should have news shortly about players who have trialled for Great Britain Junior teams for 2024, and we still have Under 17 Indoor Nationals and Junior Outdoor Nationals to come this academic year.
